i don't feel anything on bent dumbell rows

which is the correct form? (i'm talking about the standed two-arm dumbell rows), my right triceps is sore from my last football game and it started hurting a bit so i guess i was flexing it, i do them with the dumbells on diagonal, with the arms as back as i can, like this

try as much as you can to do the movement without bending your elbows
they will bend ofc but the contraction will the minimal

one of the lats' functions is to extend the shoulder behind the body as in a walking motion

in general knowing the function of a muscle enables you to recruit it better

If you don't feel anything then don't do it. Avoid single arm DB rows also as it will thicken the waist (especially if you aren't genetically gifted with a small waist). Try pre-exhausting your lats on pullovers perhaps

Pull with your elbows not arms, arms are secondary, feel your lat contracting

yeah that's why i realized, i have more control of my lats as the sets go by and i start feeling the pump
 
It's probably your form, I used to be the same, i would have to do high reps to even start feeling it in my lats. Now i can feel it in my lats on the first rep without even using weights jfl.

If you can hip hinge properly and activate your glutes and lower back you can do the rows freeform bent over which will help more with athletics.

The goal is not to feel 'sore' or pain from working out; If anything, that's a completely different workout philosophy that is alien to much of the world.

Instead, you should aim on completing sets throughout the day (which is why a portable, low-weight kettlebell is important), imitating the sort of movements that someone in the ancient era would have had to done, since there was no designated time that our ancestors simply stopped

Tbh I would always start with a pullover (machine is best but very rare) or a pulldown/pullup (if you can really isolate the lats with a good mind muscle connection) before starting any row. You want to ensure the lats failure before the biceps.
