Especially in summer. Working out in a room full of sweaty , fart smelling men for 1.5 hours in hot weather is dreadful on it’s own , no way I would do another round on one of these

Who even enjoys these? it’s the most boring activity you could do

Why would you run on one of these in a smelly room , when you coudl just head to the athletic field?

Cardio should be refreshing , something new every time. Sprint running, swimming, hiking, cycling, boxing, kayaking, there are so many great outdoor alternatives

because they're fatcels that want to feel like they're using their gym membership even though they'd burn the same calories + have healthier psychology if they just brisk walked outside or did sprints or jumping jacks instead of the machine

Air conditioning was invented in the US by Willis Carrier and has been in common use since the 1950s. Sorry you live in a shit hole.

Yes, I admit the cold season can be tricky

I took up boxing as a form of indoor cardio in late autumn , I can recommend that to anyone, it also works out the mind , you have to focus hard

True, skating mogs any form of cardio you could do in a gym, where you literally have to pay to be there

I used to use an elliptical to prevent knee and back stress.

The only forms of cardio that I do are cycling and incline treadmill walks.

The gym that I go to is about 7 km removed from my house but I go there by bike like 95% of the time (I only go by car when it's raining heavily) and I go to the gym like 4 times a week so that's plenty of cardio for me.

I think the same way about gym overall. Why would you go to gym if there is ton of workout spots everywhere? Just add weight as you progress, buy rings, do multiple progressions, learn different skills which will impress 99.9999% people around you, handstands, musle ups, front levers etc. Isnt it 100x funnier and enjoyable than moving dumbell up and down?

The street where I grew up in has a basketball court in the cul de sac ( the layout resembles almost perfectly Grove Street in GTA san andreas :p). We used to spend whole afternoon outside but now all the original faces have moved out :feelsbadman:

Mirin. The Netherland’s bike infrastructure is otherwordly , also what a clever way to make people fit

I now live in a place where I can afford to do so, so I walk everywhere (+ use mass transit, I dont have a car currently), as a form of cardio

The treadmill is much more gentle on your legs than running outside, i use it often for this reason, i can run more kms.

Running on asphalt is horrible.

Although you put 3-4x of your bodyweight in force on your joints while sprinting, you only do it for 10-20 seconds (a sprint workout consisting of 6 rounds means just one minute spent running altogether).

While if you run for longer distances on either treadmill or naturally, you put load on your joints not for a single minute, but for even an hour or more. Not to even speak about it’s muscle devouring effects

Either walk or sprint, but don’t run at moderate intensity. Jogging is horrible for your physique and joints.

Gym Cycling is good - Not spin bikes though (maybe just me cos i nearly destroyed my knee ligaments on it)

Legit gives me godlike quadpump and builds them well.

I’d also add don’t use the handles on the treadmills or stair stepper

- Inside cardio u can track exactly how much calories u burned.
- Inside cardio will not hurt ur knees (treadmill) and hence healthier for obese ppl
- Inside cardio is great if you dont live in an area that offers many sport activities
- Inside cardio is gelreat because you can watch your fav anime or movies during workout
- Inside cardio is great for people with no friends or social anxiety

There u have the reasons

It's for landwhales anyway

Waste of time

Boxing and hiking are the shit
I do like running on treadmill as well as it's easier to get mile time up (dopamine rush) with minimal knee and ankle stress

I do both incline treadmill walking and biking. I like biking in the gym primarily because the seat is A LOT better, it's way more comfortable.
