I don't get how people get to failure when they only do 8 reps

Like sure, at some point you can't lift the 10kg dumbbell, but with the 5kg one you could still do 6 more. Can you really call it failure when there's still so much power left?
I personally do like 15 reps until I genuinely can't move my muscle anymore.

Is this stupid? Am I doing it wrong?

You should go to momentary failure not absolute failure

It doesn’t stimulate your muscle that much after but it rather fatigues you more which reduces your performance in the next few sets/exercises. So negligibly more stimulation on muscles but much more fatigue.

Basically more isn’t always better, you already stimulate the muscle enough in those 8 reps

Jay cutler says if you can stimulate the muscle with less weight do that, more efficient

Slightly more efficient in stimulating muscle yeah, but you’re ending up with more fatigue=worse performance. Its a bad trade-off honestly

Idk, i can't take the gym seriously in the slightest any more.
I went the other day and me and my friend could not stop laughing at what kind of retarded and absurd shit we were doing for no apparent reason.
Training is like a meditation. Total concentration and effort on the muscle, you’ll get it eventually
