Honestly, I sympathize where you are.

The feeling of dread knowing that you aren't proud of who you are... yet.

A lot of people will say that you're ridiculous, but you aren't. Sometimes, solitude is a gift.

I have had times where I isolated myself in the mountains for months, eating nothing but chicken breasts and spinach, training under brutal harsh winter conditions up to -35 degrees Celsius to make myself better, and it did. I came out with it much better in the end despite how depressing it all was.

My best suggestion for you if you have that level of shame is to go travel. You'll still be anonymous, but you will learn things about yourself that you never knew you were capable of. It's all about progress, not perfection my friend. As long as you are making progress, you will feel better about yourself and embrace the journey you are on now.
