When I visited Pakistan in 2022, I was welcomed by family members but no one gave me a warmer welcome than an in-law who was a middle-aged woman. I felt really loved. Not even my "blood relatives" came anywhere close like that, except for maybe my younger maternal uncle who simply gave me a long hug. The only bad thing is that she tried to turn me into a soyboy by saying my 18 and 20 year old cousins were too young for me to marry since I was 26 when I mentioned my mother wanted me to marry one of them, but she was so nice to me that I could not help but nod in agreement and say "You are absolutely right, I wasn't interested anyway." To be fair, I really wasn't interested, but I digress.
