I don't like noise cancellation headphones

I don't why everyone wants the best noise cancellation headphones. The newer ones like the xm6s give me Sensory deprivation. I like being aware of my surroundings and everyone around. It's like jump scare when someone taps on my shoulders wearing them and I'm locked in. I understand wanting a quite environment to focus and study but this is too much man. Even when I'm travelling and on aeroplanes I wouldn't want this kind of noise cancellation that makes me deaf to someone right next to me. I like noise, being aware and being present.
