eyelid retraction surgery

qNZykj3.jpg

Young male, complained of inherited droopy lower eyelids with sclera show and sad looking eyes. He wanted more almond shape eyes. He underwent lower eyelid retraction surgery (without spacer graft) to create more almond eyes.

38 year old male, with lower eyelid retraction due to previous lower blepharoplasty (by another surgeon), underwent lower eyelid retraction surgery (with alloderm spacer graft), canthoplasty, and tear trough (orbital rim) implant placement. Before and 6 months after surgery results are shown. You can see his written testimonial on realself https://www.realself.com/review/beverly-hills-ca-eyelid-retraction-repair-eyelid-retraction-surgery

almond eye surgery and cantho & LER are basically the same thing.

you’d see a big difference if it showed the whole face

yes and eyelid retraction surgery? its a differen thing

the lower guy had lower eyelid retraction surgery +canthoplasty + infraorbital rim implants on top of that while the guy on the top had eyelid retraction surgery alone. i wonder what difference canthoplasty makes here..seems like the biggest impact comes from eyelid retraction surgery? the results are very very similar..

oh youre right - i actually wanted to ask: can mewing give me almond eye surgery results? in which degree do i have to push my tongue against the roof of my mouth to get only canthoplasty results or eyelid retraction results alone?

I heard MK677 can reduce sclera show.

I think the other guys who posted are right -- almond eye surgery is basically a suite of procedures (lateral canthoplasty, lower eyelid retraction correction, possibly orbital decompression and orbital rim implants) all performed during the same surgery appointment. The point of canthoplasty is to alter (usually elevate) the position of the lateral canthus.

yes but why is the outcome not much distinguishable to a simple retraction surgery?

I'm not sure, that's a good question. Maybe it depends on the particular patient and how dramatic of a result they wanted?

yes but im trying to understand what canthoplasty actually does?

how are the outcomes different to canthoplexy or eyelid retraction surgery etc

I think that lateral canthoplasty on its own is primarily just to get rid of NCT and create either neutral canthal tilt or PCT. It might be able to lift the lower eyelids a little bit, but for significant correction of lower eyelid retraction, surgery intended to specifically correct it is necessary

are they generaly safe procedures?

Isn’t eyelid retraction surgery just a canthoplasty?

No, eyelid retraction surgery comprises lifting of the actual lower eyelid to a higher position (sometimes involving the use of a spacer graft), whereas canthoplasty involves moving the lateral canthi to new (usually higher) positions.

both really good results tbh, taban isn’t definitely a top tier surgeon

How much is the price of lower eyelid retraction? Anyone knows of EU surgeons who do this?
