Yes, even he himself doesn’t fully agree with the “Peat Diet”, best to just listen to one’s intuition while avoiding anything too metabolically inhibiting

Imo peating before fixing cellular oxygenation is foolish. Better to focus on fixing co2 defiency (ability to retain co2) as that is what initiates oxidative metabolism.

So when the severely sick man, who could not move, after 3, 4, 5 months [of breathing retraining], on the sixth month achieved 150–180–240 s breath holds. Easy. He exhales and can easily remain for 4 minutes without breathing. All diseases disappeared long ago, he can work tirelessly for 24 hours, he sleeps for four hours, eats twice as less, etc., and he does not get influenza.
Everyone in the family is sick with the flu, he will not get sick; and if there is an infection, he sits down for our [breathing re-] training, a half-hour session, and the flu is gone. It turns out that the influenza virus is afraid of an acidic environment [in the blood]: acidification immediately makes it weak. Most of our patients know about this, and they never get sick with flu. This elderly man used to get the flu a hundred times in a year, and now all around him are sick, but influenza cannot get him. He achieved the zone of “super-endurance” [or super-resilience], his breathing is below the norm, carbon dioxide is above the norm, and the [control] pause has increased up to 240.
We were terribly surprised and shocked when this old man who could not walk around in his room, had terrible dyspnea so that he was unable to move, laying in bed, and in a few months when I visited his home, he was out digging potatoes all day and was not tired at all. But his grandson could dig [potatoes] for only half a day because his control pause was 20 s. He [grandson] breathes deeply, sweats, and feels weak. The grandfather was digging potatoes all day, came home, exhaled, and ran up to the third floor without breathing. He came back home and had no dyspnea. Why? He ran up the stairs for a minute but would not breathe for three minutes. This was quite a simple and easy task for him.

Oh, indeed, I highly agree, today I woke up feeling terrible, ate, drank coffee and had a few minutes of bag breathing and I feel much better

Bag breathing is too easy, won't do much to influence co2 tolerance. Need to train with air hunger, breath holds, etc.

Look into Dr Buteyko's work on co2 and endogenous breathing by frolov. ( normalbreathing.com ), even peat mentions him.
