I mean yes you could make a lot of money after many years of super speciality but overall it's a very cumbersome and pain staking way to do it. you become a doctor to save lives, because it's a Nobel profession, because you command respect in society. Not to become rich. It can be done but it's the most painstaking way to go about it

I can assure you that 90% of those doctors who want to excel in the profession solely for the money end up failing and almost never achieve their goal. Those who truly succeed in the field are the ones who devote themselves entirely, even to the point of dedicating their lives, to the career itself, not the money.

You make decent money in Medicine After Mid 30's. Even 40 to some extent. To get Rich Startup is a far better way

Depends on the country. The USA is an outlier as there are many professions where you can make a significant amount of money. In countries like Canada there is nothing that pays even remotely close to being a doctor. You can graduate from a family medicine residency at 28-30 and make 300k+ a year after expenses. Medical school here is also <$30k/year.

Neurosurgeons/opthamologists/dermatologists can clear $1m/year as well although the nsg job market is brutal.

well think: your other options are finance, law, and engineering. Finance if you go to a big firm like jp morgan agter 4 years of college, your making 100-200k per year, but your capped there + working 100 hour shifts and the chances of you moving to a manahging director position is low at a big firm like that which pays 500k+ a year. Engineer has a capped salary usually and idk much about law. But for doctors, 14 years of school you'll be 32 making maybe 600k per year as a plastic surgeon

Plus medicine doesn't require as much IQ as Finance imo there are plenty of dumb doctors

Medicine is a gruelling and painful process youโ€™ll be in close to 600k in debt before you make money

True. American Doctors make lot more money also but they are usually in debt for many years before they make good money. Its a long grueling years of school but by the end of it you should be fine if you pass. The process itself is the grueling part. My friends always tell me how much it burns them to beworking 60-70 hours a week to earn shit wages compared to engineers who start earning right after undergrad

Engineers salaries are capped but that's usually after many years and in big tech they almost earn as much as executives and by the time most people just tend to pivot to leadership and c suite type roles anyway. Law is also kinda like medicine won't make any money in your initial years but once you have a reputation many law firms pay in millions.
