they said they were giving me a bimax. the ortho doctor said it would help a ton with breathing, chewing, and sleeping along with bite and stuff. he said they would widen my palate too. but yea he said double jaw

you'll most likely look better, almost 100% chance of that, but you'll look better because they’re bringing the lower jaw forward and in doing so, are moving the maxilla slightly back to align the bite correctly. So your maxilla will be slightly worse but your lower jaw will be much more masculinised, so overall improvement but not in the midface whatsoever.
No man don’t worry about it. They are probably just giving you normal bsso with lefort 1. It’s true it will improve your airway so you also have that benefit

this is a unique case not being done for aesthetics. Essentially they'll do anything to correct his overbite (not visually, but rather the bite itself) , including descending the midface by bringing the upper jaw back to be aligned better with the lower jaw
I also have an overjet. The way the orthodontist will fix it is that she will give me braces on my lower teeth to bring them closer to the upper teeth. I don’t see why they would recess his jaw AND bring the mandible forward. Either way op should ask if they are bringing the maxilla forward or backwards. I doubt they would recess it but idk what’s going on in America

tbf it’s unlikely that they'll actually recess you unless your lower jaw is subhuman, but they probably won't provide meaningful forward growth either
