I don't think online dating is a good idea for guys or people in general

Online dating is a pretty anti-social activity tbh

It gives you the choice of not actually taking action and going outside to socialize

It makes you only available to shallow people who are there just to have a random hookup or meaningless sex and they only judge you on your looks

Most of the people who are on online dating have been there for a long time and have so many options that they cant help but get off on the fact that they are so desired to so many people

Mental illnesses can be hidden and you cant really spot it in texts since there is no emotion in typing words

I think its better to go outside and talk to people and be social and then have that chemistry with someone instead of online dating but i like being outgoing and talking to people irl so maybe that makes me a bit biased perhaps?

Another thing ugly women get alot of matches but her matches have other matches at the end of the day they choose the better option the matching hypothesis debunks alot of foolishness incels spew on here. ‘Go outside and talk to people’ not really an option when most venues are shut during covid, and harassment laws are now strongly enforced, at least in the UK (and rightfully so: day game cold approach *is* harassment, like chugging).

Something I don’t get: I’ve started dating off the apps again, and you say it attracts more narcissists, which is absolutely my experience - the girls don’t give a shit about you, or showing care; to me all they care about is what you can do for them, entertainment (via looks as a threshold, then how you ‘fit into their life’ as entertainment). Fine. But I see other people (often much uglier than me) date off apps and find girlfriends who obviously care, show devotion, get insecure around them, etc., and these gfs aren’t because they’re dating several points below in hotness. What gives?
