Yeah I recovered on my own. To be honest if you can have someone go to the shops and make soups for you that would help alot. Doing that alone is rough.

In general this isn't a surgery to be done alone.

BTW was your bite fine before treatment ?

Im getting 4mm maxilla and 5 mm lower jaw advanced. I remember ramieri saying to me he wants to do 3mm maxilla but move teeth forward so overall 6 mm for lower jaw.

I wonder

Same. Getting surgery for pure aesthetics is pretty gay idk what my dad would say if I told him that I was getting bimax

If I ever do get it I would rather hire an aid to help me for the first couple weeks

How long will you be staying in hospital for post op? Usually the first three days are the worst from what I understand.

Prepare yourself for the first week of recovery by acquiring lots of meal replacement shakes and smoothies. After the first five days have passed you should be OK, I'd be surprised if you'd feel you like needed additional assistance. I think if your hospital stay is 3 days or more then it should be manageable to recover on your own. Lots of people have done it, but obviously not everyone can do it.

3-5 days in hospital. Thing is don’t even know how to get home. I can’t speak to get a taxi. I can’t cook. besides that Im scared ngl. Having someone in the backpocket that is ready to help is defenitly a stress reliever.

Im pretty much decided on telling my dad. But I don’t know how and how I can get him tl not tell anybody.

It’s not gay for me anymore. It’s totally fine in my eyes. But it’s defenitly not accepted in society.

You could try to downplay the significance of the surgery by explaining it to your dad as something done to correct slight bite problems, tell him it's basically surgical assistance to help with braces to correct your teeth relationship. This way your dad doesn't have anything to tell his friends about, or it won't be of any significance to be remembered for more than 1 week.

If he's with you from day 1 and will see you when you're swollen then he probably won't even realize the soft tissue changes once swelling has settled. It would be a more significant change if he hasn't seen you and you turn up post op with no swelling and a whole new face because then it's something he's not familiar with. When he sees you gradually getting better as swelling settles down he won't notice shit.

like who? family members? you're trying to fuck your sister?
Entire social circle.
He tells his friends. My sister. My sister tells my friends. Whatever. A surgery like bimax is something people can talk about as it’s very Extreme. People love gossip. Sometimes accidentally. I like my family. But I don’t fully trust them in this to keep it shut.

hmm. Don't you look different after bimax

Yeah theoretically. But I jutted for years now and always wear a cap to mask my recession and crooked nose. So others besides my family have never seen my actual self. Just my fraudmaxxed self.

If everything goes right I can even drop the cap. No one will even notice the jaw change then and be focused on me having hair or sum shit.

My friends won’t notice. Only risk is family spilling the beans.

That’s like the dilemma. If I downplay the surgery he gonna tell it his friends, atleast as a side node. He has orthodontist aid in his social circle and some people who work in health related fields. They would surely know the severity of this surgery.

But I feel like he thinks telling his close friends will be fine as it’s his close friends. I feel like he would be the kind of person who you tell to not tell somebody and then he does and says „oh it’s just them… dw“. Especially if I downplay it he gonna ask why he should keep it shut.

3rd alternative is recovering alone. In a shitty appartment. Clocked up nose from blood. No cooking skills. 35 degree in summer. No clue about how to actually live on my own.

Only 6mm lower? The big ascension I've seen are on the double digits. Unless you're doing genio too + angle implants

Yeah rn a 5mm genio is planned. Honestly I wished I could have like 3.5mm Upper jaw and like 8.5 mm lower jaw and 2mm genio

But you can’t pick and choose. They just gotta work with what you got. My occlusional plane is close to ideal so they can’t rotate CCW without fucking up some other stuff. Basicly they are forced to advance the jaws 1:1

What's the bad part about him telling his friends? They won't know your reasoning for getting the surgery. They'll think you're getting jaw surgery for occlusal problems because that's the intended purpose of the surgery, the aesthetic improvements comes as a byproduct.

His friends are of 0 significance to you, it would be worse if he told YOUR friends or people in your age-range. Will you even ever meet any of his friends? If you happen to meet them, they'll ask you how was the procedure, how was recovery etc and maybe compliment you on the aesthetic gains and nothing else.

Obviously, you should ask him kindly to be quiet about it but it'll be impossible to keep his mouth under check.

Yeah you’re right. I shouldn’t try to control things that I can’t control.

Rather find some explanation that is easy to digest for others so they dont and questions.

Thing is I once told me sister I wanna improve my smile and might get my jaws rearranged for that.

I could however say that i always had pain in my jaw. Which is actually true but not related.

Mhhh

Yea it’s not gay for me either. I want bimax. But to society like u said it’s def very weird to get jaw surgery when u have nothing actually wrong with u lol

I plan to get mine alone and recover alone. If it's shit, then so be it. The suffering is temporary.

That being said, if you are going to Alfaro (I'm not) then the recovery should be more tolerable as he operates so quickly that it reduces the subsequent swelling and facial trauma.

Not sure. Quite sure I’m not getting a minimal invasive surgery. Would recover on my own if that would be the case. But I highly doubt it as I’m getting 5 days hospital stay.

I told my parents, siblings and two best friends about my plan to get IMDO+Lefort+Genio and after explaining my reasoning they all understood, I have mild sleep apnea but I made it clear this was mainly aesthetic.

If they are genuine people you want in your life be upfront and you’ll see them for who they are.

Dude, my parents would disown me if I got PS. Also, they will not keep their mouths shut. Not to mention the stigma around getting PS as a male. You will be seen as a faggot.
