For me when I lost weight it helped when I finally realized that I didn’t have to stop eating the food I liked and that I didn’t have to eat some hippie fuck’s boiled skinless chicken recipe (just count calories no matter what food it is)
And also that exercise was largely optional in terms of actually losing weight
Both of those things helped my motivation a lot
