I have found that the best and most efficient/convenient protein source for me in recent months have been insects. I have since staved off from eating any sort of white/red meat and have strictly been eating only:
House flies (My go to, 20-23g protein per, very low fat and high in potassium)
Cockroaches (19-23g protein per, don’t eat as much b/c high fat at 9-11g per)
Crickets/Grasshoppers or Cicadas (20-22g protein per)
Living in Florida thankfully makes fresh produce easy to procure due to the fact that most of insects don’t live for over a month or two. Most of the time I consume them by blending them into my protein shakes but I also eat them fresh, especially the larger kind. Most taste somewhat nutty and/or savory but roaches have a sort of syrupy aftertaste to them, making them pretty good for shakes!
Never thought I would be posting this but insects are actually a cheat code to getting lean. Good protein w/o the cholesterol/fat concern from red/white meat. I am now truly optimized.
