My friend started a fight me with while we were at another friend's house
I hit him hard and he started squealing extremely loudly as if he was a pig getting gutted
This got the attention of house owner friend's grandparents
I kept telling them that he started it and I was defending myself, but they kept insisting I'm a violent hooligan because I happened to win the fight and my friend was the one who ended up squealing
They demanded I acknowledge my guilt and apologize
They specifically said they wouldn't tell my parents if I did
At the time I was terrified of my parents so I said it's my fault, and it hurt my pride and soul profoundly to do that, but I desperately wanted to avoid punishment by my parents
Then they dropped me at my parents and immediately told them I beat the friend up anyway
And my parents beat me up later that day
I will never forget this
