I am more relieved than I am disappointed because the bad outweighs the good. I have yet to decide what I will major in once the summer break is over, but I want something with minimal social interaction. Having to socialize is so draining. The internship made me realize a few things. For example, I don’t like standing in front of the classroom. I always get nervous and I come across as insecure, this is actual feedback I got from the placement coach. Ten years of NEETing has caught up to me, I am socially stunted. People pick up on it. But that’s not the only problem. The kids too. They’re so annoying. They’re too rowdy, I couldn’t even handle them. It was impossible to get them to pay attention to the point that one of the kids said they couldn’t hear me because of all the noise. And the expectations the program has clashed with my personality. I don’t care about kids or motivating them, I wouldn’t go out of my way to do any of that. It’s all idealistic bullshit that I couldn’t care less about. Good riddance.
