Non-STEM degrees like mine is cope. It's a filtering mechanism in the job market. Some of the places I worked at the managing directors / CEOs left school at 16. I'm actually lucky I got the job I've got, otherwise I would've wageslaved in a shitty job.

Some of the 'educated' people I work with are dumb as shit. Knowing how to use basic Excel functions, managing emails/digital communications and you can do a typical city job. Anyone can do this people are just lazy af and don't have those soft skills of building interpersonal relationships.

Don't need to PM. It's one of those generalist "consulting" jobs. Technically they do want degrees (esp big 4) and want very smart people who can prove their skills with accreditations.

However much smaller firms and random companies will create 'consultant' roles and not have such requirements. Even without a degree although it's unlikely in this job market, but I've seen some definitely.

In these roles you basically do what companies can't be bothered to do whether it's analysing figures or managing their comms. So they outsource it to "experts" who do it for them JFL. I'm no expert in anything, I just read numbers, put it into fancy visuals, and write a report (using ChatGPT often now lmao). You don't need a degree really. You just need dedication and organisational skills. That's really the real skill needed.
