After wasting 2 years of my life in uni, I've decided to drop out and do carpentry next year. I was studying eng/science in the first year then changed to actuarial science in the second but I was too much of a lazy cunt to do any work.

Even though i currently feel like im throwing my life away, im still 19 and hoping that I can have fulfilment from other things in life down the line. Are there any tradecels here who can tell me what its like doing a trade? do you regret not going to uni?

Not for me man. It was honestly so brutal to be alone in a class and feeling like a moron because I hadn’t watched any lectures or done work whilst all the other stemcels were answering all the questions. I had to leech so much

Went to community college for electrical technology. I didn’t get a degree just certificates. I don’t want to say what I do or how much I make but 5 years down the line I’m doing pretty well for my self. Going to uni is a bunch of bullshit my friend. Just do what you think is best and don’t let the world or societal norms make you think you are failing.

Thanks for the motivation man. Uni and school were a waste of time for me and I didn't accept it until now. I assume working with your hands must be much more interesting than sitting on a computer all day and working with spreadsheets.

Social pressures have really fucked me up the last few years.

i’m an hvac apprentice right now and it’s tuff because you’re doing different shit in different places every day. and i just like the work (some of it at least). but any nigga touching real bread from the trades is doing some combination of these things: living in a good area, working a more specialized trade, working 80+ hours a week, or starting up their own business after years of toiling in tha field

I'm 26 now but during high school I didn't get the full "high school diploma" just because I failed in ONE subject, a projectwork.

Yeah I know it's possible to retake that project work at Adult School or Online School it takes like 2 months but it's hard cause I have issues like depression n poor ability to focus n concentrate , that's why I haven't tried retaking the project work.
