To give an example for week ago, I went outside to quickly throw the garbage out without my hair system and without a hat (I am Norwood4-5), and I was like "Ehhh it's just a quick trip to the garbage container and the beanies are all the way upstairs, so it's more hassle to get it than to not get it". However, my parents noticed me walking outside without the hair system, and they were like "WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU WALK OUTSIDE LIKE THAT?!!! What if the neighbours saw you?!! You're so upset over your hairloss and then you go outside looking like that?!"

Like... bruh. I am not trying to date my neighbours or anything. I don't give a flying fuck if Jeremy from 2 houses down sees me walking down the street with my Norwood5 hairline. I DO care if girls at a festival or a dating app see me bald/balding (or also when I have a job interview I guess).

Or another funny encounter, I was at the store grocery shopping with my mom (she has early-stage dementia so I help her out with grocery shopping), and she pointed some guy and said "Look at that short guy, just be glad you're not as short as him" (I am 5'10-5'11, he was like 4'8 or smth ), and then a few minutes later she's about 'personality is what matters most'. I do realize that it's sad that he's short, but I don't go around saying that to his face, and I'm internally more emphathetic because I realize how bad dating for that guy is while my mom just used him as a way to compare his traits to mine.
