Ok, others have probably done and thought of this before, but it's new to me.
I used to hit my thigh when I started juggling 5 balls (to gain leverage and speed) which was really frustrating and ruined my ability to keep running the pattern. I would even get bruises after practicing for long durations. So anyway, way I do now instead, is I start with the hands down by my thighs. That allows for a more relaxed start and I don't hit my thigh anymore.
I think I can actually start enjoying my hobby again!
