Fair . High schools and overall schools seem to be similar to the irish ones

I'd do everything

Schools are legit insane in the US, they have insane events nonstop, sports, graduations, etc.

That's a highschool graduation in the US, for my grad there were 2 random girls who sang a song and then they clapped.

This is a highschool football game, my school had one singular team so only like 6 ppl could get on it, and there were literally zero clubs.
No events either
Holy high effort comment btw

You would probably have to look it up online for local ones, everything in Ireland is paid which sucks, zero people actually trying to have fun and kill time

Yes there's nothing to do except maybe go to some degen club or the bar, but even then both of them are getting way too expensiv

They don't rot though since they have school and work most of the time

Africa is not safe and Asia is just a normal western country these days, unless you're going to the countryside.
But then again if you go to the countryside any country will be kinda different and special.

I literally see nothing but old people when I go outside, and that's if I see anyone in the first place kek.

Less internet would be the best, not just social media.
A lot of people are just rotting on vidya or some slop shows, but to be fair I can't blame them, there's nothing outside.
It's a vicious circle, kind of like a self fulfilling prophecy, people rot in their room because there is nothing to do outside but that in term creates the "nothingness" and emptiness.

I am currently in uni, about to go on an exchange year.
Life is one big highschool yk.
But still it is better, people have 0 preconceived notions about you so you can build up a new persona in their eyes, my experience was that people were honestly kind of just staying with who they already knew so you have to approach them and do all the hard work.

In my experience the nicest people are always the international students, as they have nobody here that they already know, everything is new to them, they'll be super open and nice, that's why I have always made friends with them when I start a new semester/year, and I feel like they are just warmer and nicer people overall, but I might just be biased because of abused dog mentality. I have incredibly few 100% french friends.

And obviously if you can do an Erasmus/exchange year, go for it by all means necessary, i've already done a semester abroad and it was great, and I can't wait to move this summer and study a whole year in Norway.

Just make sure you get ok grades or else you'll have some trouble if you want an Erasmus or for your Masters.

How was the food situation during the erasmus year?
Did you have to get a job yourself or did you get some kind of allowance from the school?

That's the only thing I'm kind of worried about.

No, I am about to go on an Erasmus year, the semester I did abroad was because I moved in with my then girlfriend, so I lived in her apartment and I got some money from my parents but had to work also, food wasn't a problem, especially since she cooked me great meals everyday, that was nice.

Considering the one I am preparing which will start in 2 months, I have worked full time for like a year and saved up over 10k for this project to come to fruition, it has basically been my dream since I started high school, but yk it's student life so you won't be eating like a king everyday and I will most definitely have to find a job there, but it's nothing in the grand scheme of things considering I want this social experience yk and I really wanna make a bunch of friends and just fuck around there, and I'll be living in a student residence so I hope I get great flatmates so we can just have fun, that is to me worth more than all the money I have.

I do get an allowance from my uni, but it is a measly 3000 euros for the whole year, but that amount depends on your uni and the Irish gov, if it's rich you'll probably get more.
My parents won't help me financially here except if I am dying but if yours are open to that that's great, but you'll obviously have to work and save up towards it.

Sorry...... I'm on something rn and my memory is fried.....

Is there a reason for Norway?
If you want to have fun with other students then something like Germany/Netherlands would be better, no?
I plan to check their rave culture out one day.
