Some hapas do, but there are also East Asians who don't have them. I read it was 98% in South Korea and lower percentages but still high in Japan and China, I think 85% and 75% respectively or so.

Scientists say that body odor plays a huge part in attraction and guess what? I have a gene mutation which causes me to produce little to no body odor, thus women don't pick up on my pheromones. I knew this mutation existed, but also heard it only occurred in East Asians, so I never thought I would have it since I'm Pakistani but it turns out I do, confirmed by DNA.

@CFW432 You may have this gene mutation, too. It likely stems from AASI so people with high AASI are more than likely to have this gene as well. As you know East Asians are distantly related to AASI. Probably the only good thing about AASI. You can check which alleles you have through your raw data file, just open the .txt file and then search for “rs17822931” this is the SNP for the ABCC11 gene. Everyone has this, but not everyone has this mutation. See which alleles you have here, it should be either C/C, C/T or T/T. Let me know what you got.

You are supposed to look at the last two letters, the rs[number] refers to the SNP, 16 refers to the chromosome that it’s on, not sure what the next number is but the last two letters represent the alleles you have for that gene. It’s the ABCC11 gene but you have the normal-functioning variant of this gene, like most of the world. This means you have wet earwax instead of dry earwax, but the thing is, the gene for earwax is also linked to body odor. You have C/C, which is wet earwax. There’s also C/T, that’s also wet earwax. And T/T is dry earwax. In one study, among 70 southern South Asians, 34 had the gene mutation for dry earwax. They sampled across races and ethnic groups and Asians were the ones to likely have this, in other ethnic groups they were either not found at all or they were outliers.
