I donโ€™t see much chance of making it out of wageslaving now, the whole idea of โ€œinvest and retire earlyโ€ is fucked when the stock market has priced in decades worth of growth already, itโ€™s pretty much primed for a global-scale rug pull event.

yes, last year. but i can still work because of connections and paperwork. :feelshah:

i do it to live more comfortably (despite being able to live through my parents alimony money) and save up for the future.

Itโ€™s not a generational thing, anybody who is still working and didnโ€™t accumulate enough capital in the bull run of 2009-2025 is fucked. My boomer parents are fucked (never invested), Iโ€™m millennial and Iโ€™m fucked (career start too late, bad investing choices)

All the real money was already made. Stock markets going up that fast for that long is an aberration and we are going to pay for it with a lost decade of stagnation, possibly multiple lost decades.

In any case, start moving away from blue-collar jobs as quickly as possible, and start working in the service sector & white-collar jobs.. (find internships at large multinational companies that hire students when you go to university as soon as possible)

At university, do the minimum to pass the years if you are studying something other than law, medicine, architecture, psychology etc. and focus on your work and to find a position asap after your internship and learn as much as possible from your workplace, bc what you learn in university is useless for the labor market and you will forget everything anyway from there

I am writing to you now while at work, but working remotely from the comfort of my bed, after attending a useless university that did not help me in any way, but only opened doors to such companies/internships..

90% of my university colleagues did not take advantage of them, and now they have returned home and are unemployed / working at a supermarket and living with their parents in their basement, or work in blue-collar jobs that did not require a university degree, working shifts, being tired, sleepy, with health problems, but with a disadvantage of 4-6 years (both in terms of salary and experience) that they lost at a useless university
