Found this research chemical called TPA (12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate). It’s used in mouse research to induce localized inflammation + edema.


Some studies:

• Young et al. 1983 — TPA-induced mouse-ear edema⁠
• De Young et al. 1989 — edema and inflammatory-cell infiltration⁠
• Murakawa et al. 2006 — TPA-induced inflammation/edema⁠
• Stanley et al. 1991 — repeated TPA exposure⁠

So basically:


TPA → inflammation → vascular permeability → swelling → tissue remodeling


The interesting part is whether the temporary edema could theoretically be followed by some persistent remodeling after the swelling goes down.


And honestly, as a concept this sounds less brutal than beating your own face with a hammer like a jester
