The Mongols destroyed all of the achievements they had. I wonder how advanced they could have been had it not been destroyed. The sacking of Baghdad was a pivotal moment in history, as it started a Mongol civil war since one of the Mongol grandsons of Genghis Khan had reverted to Islam. It’s funny, without Berke Khan, even Mecca and Medina would’ve been destroyed by the Mongols. Unfortunately, he’s a figure forgotten by the community that he saved. The reason why it was monumental is because Mongols never fought amongst each other but that changed after this sacking. Berke went against everything he ever knew and learned at that point, out of faith. May God reward Berke Khan for what he did!
