if you live in a first world country with modern technology how could you ever be 'bored'? Symptom of retardation, but i think it comes from the modern need for most people to have some 'productivity'(modern myth) so they feel empty when they arent productive.

I feel like it comes from people not developing self esteem in development, they need constant validation. It’s so cringe seeing people incapable of being or doing things alone. That’s not me being antisocial either I still enjoy socialising but I’m just not dependent ykwim
