I couldn’t use a translator as I’m in China without roaming and there was no Wi-Fi, and none of the apps were working when I tried to download offline

The women got a translator up but one of them kept forgetting to use it and the other one was reminding her that I couldn’t understand a thing

And then the payment failed

But then it worked

What an ordeal

No
“oral English” is kind of a meme where you’re just there to expose them to a native English foreigner and get them to speak

Uni teaching in China is laid back as can be. No worries.

Idk if I’m expected to make a PowerPoint or something and connect it to a screen, but I don’t have a laptop

I've never taught uni there but HS was pretty easy. Literally just do whatever you want for each 45 minute interval. No need for planning or anything.

i'd definitely take pregab if i was in your shoes
Definitely not. Chinese students at that age are very respectful. Middle schoolers on the other hand will crucify you if they think they're able to.

What did u do if u didnt plan?
Just ask them questions about random stuff? I feel like it’s easier with a smaller number of people

I would have class discussions about travel or whatever and play games where I'd split the class in two then have em come up to write stuff on the board like a marathon.

You'll only ever got one text on that phone, wagie: 'It's work, can you come in?'

And of course you'll come in. Because that's all you're good for. You're nothing but their working dog slave.
