I’m treating this like a short diary entry about my first Christmas ever. I’ll show the gifts near the end. :Comfy:

You may remember this thread -> on the 23rd i spent around 6 hours going from one end of poland to the other.. via train. When I arrived, my mom was waiting at the station. We hugged and drove back to her place.

I've never actually seen her new house ever since she moved out, and it was extremely cozy. It's in a small village, the house is entirely custom built and warmed up with wood and hard work. :feelsautistic: I helped them cut up some trees (they had a really cool axe, almost 4kgs), warmed up the house and spent the night there before the 24th.

I bought my mom, brother and my moms husband a bunch of gifts, which i put under the christmas tree in a small cozy living room.

For my brother - which is a die-hard harry potter fan, i bought a dobby figure:
dobby GIF

this little guy ^

Aswell as a harry potter themed hoodie, a gaming headset since he started playing with his friends.. and a bunch of sweets. It's nothing over the top - just enough to make a 9 year old happy.

For my mom i bought her warmed socks for the winter season since she didn't have any, a beautiful, golden-colored necklace made out of stainless steal (not real gold, i'm not rich :fuk:), some makeup cosmetics and a christmas mug that said 'best mom ever', from all of those gifts, she was the happiest from the mug :)
For my mom's husband i got a sharpener for garage tools (nails, etc), he's a big garage guy so i thought it'd fit, i also bought him some classic wine, and warmed socks aswell for matching sake lol.

Overall, I think i did a decent job with the gifts, and everyone was very happy with it. My sister was there too, but we didn’t buy gifts for each other since we focused on the rest of the family.

I helped my mom cook some classic polish foods (fish, dumplings, borscht..), prepared the table, and ate the entire evening. We watched some christmas comedies, went to sleep and that was it. Very short, cozy and not overdone christmas day.

anyway.. for the gifts:

I got this shirt and pillow from my mom..

The shirt text fits really well lol. As a rough translation:

"I don't know, im unaware, im too busy"

It's a funny reference from my mom, because whenever i'm asked something, i ALWAYS anwser with "i don't know".. not because i actually don't know, but because im too lazy to think of a good answer. :feelshah: Hence the sloth image aswell :ROFLMAO:

The pillow just has some motivational text, with the end reading "love you, mom". It's really sweet.

The thing i love about getting gifts like these, is that it shows that you don't need anything new, anything expensive or anything over the top. You just need something heartfelt - something that screams: "i care about you". This kind of gift is perfect, it's a thing that no words could describe, true parental appreciation and love :PeepoComfy::Comfi:

I didn't get anything else, and i didn't need anything else. I'm happy to have spent a great time with my family. :ChristmasCatJam::ChristmasDance:

Wdym your first christmas?
I've never celebrated christmas before, my father raised me as a jehovas witness - a religion in which they don't celebrate birthdays, christmas, or anything for that matter.

I got out of the religion when i was 14, but didn't think to celebrate anything since. I'm 18 since 2nd december and this month is the first time i celebrated both my birthday and christmas. :Comfy:

Your parents won't be around forever, my mom has done some awful things in the past, things that completely ruined my childhood and teenage years, but it's not worth to hold grudges against it. I'd rather to have a peaceful and good life, than to regret not treating someone well before they're gone.

It is the small heartfelt stuff. You can buy someone a $2000 gift and a gift you personally made & put a lot of love into will get a better response. People use money as a substitute for thought, which is what gift giving should be all about. I'm glad you had a great Christmas.

Not much. So far I've had some spaghetti & meatballs, which is kind of a tradition for us to have on Christmas instead of a Turkey or something. Didn't really get much, but I didn't ask for anything. I'm just happy to have a family who cares about me. :PeepoComfy:
