So for the past 2 weeks I had a nice spot that I found outside of a nice apartment complex. I slept in it, hidden by bushes and grass, but it's summer and hot af so that grass eventually got burned and the bushes got smaller, that made me exposed and especially for people looking outside their windows.
I probably slept there 6-9 times (can't recall now, life was rough and I was tired), but 3 days ago I wake up to flash lights in my face and they ask me for my id. I give it to them and they say come on let's go. I said "did I break any laws? I was just sleeping in fresh air" he said "this isn't a hotel bro".
They held me at the police station for 2 hours asking me what the hell I was doing, because I don't look homeless. They searched me and found money on me and said "dude you got money, why not sleep in a hotel or rent a room?" I said "I wanted to save some money" they looked at me like I was a total idiot and they let me go. They said if they catch me one more time I would go to jail.
Can't sleep on the streets anymore
Of course it was a woman who called them. She just couldn't ignore it and go about her business. She just had to call someone.
The bright side is that I have experienced it now and I'm not scared of dealing with police anymore because I did it. This made me stronger.
