I am so confused. I just had an 18-year(ish) becky come up to me smiling, asking for my name and telling me "my friend thinks your the hottest guy she's ever seen!". It was pretty obvious though that she was out by herself, as we where alone on a subway platform. We chatted for a few minutes and then she went away. I thought she was pranking me at first, but as we kept conversing she actually seemed to be genuine. I am not autistic, and my readings of others are usually pretty accurate. Does this mean that I am not actually ugly, and maybe just have a fucked up self image? I don't know what to think, this is so strange. Pls serious answers

Doesn't matter, height is very recognizable even when sitting down. If you're 6' you're in the top 14% of height, which if you have an average face and frame makes you still relatively attractive, If you're doubting just send your pic to someone to rate in PMs.

I live in Sweden, so 6 feet is average height here. I guess me frame is average, but I am kinda skinny.

Honestly anything can happen so i dont want to say you're 100% attractive but if a girl approached on a train or w/e its a pretty good indicator you are. Typically they'll just come up to you with a shitty excuse to talk to you and be enthusiastic about the conversation. I hit puberty when I was around 17 so kinda late and I thought I was attractive when I looked in the mirror but I was always kinda unsure, the random approaches from women when I went to parties and clubs at 18 just validated that. The moment I kinda knew was when I came late from the gym home and my mom was throwing a party with a bunch of drunk friends of hers I didn't really know. I was in the kitchen and one of her friends entered and she basically asked me to marry her daughter while feeling me up (she was drunk asf).

Basically if you're attractive and go out in to the world you will get little signs from people that build up, a compliment here, a look there, an approach from a girl here etc.

I always thought that people around me said stuff like that to me "just to be nice" and to cheer me up. But if I now entertain the thought that they actually meant it, I have gotten compliments quite often through out my life, always dismissing them as fake though. This feels like taking a new kind of pill, tbh. But very hard to accept that I have deluded myself my whole life, thinking I am ugly as shit.

I can't say anything about the former statement, as I never lived outside of Sweden. But it is true that we are reserved, yes. I am literally looking myself in the mirror and trying to understand the disconnect between what I am seeing and what others may seem to be seeing. Are there degrees of body dysmorphia? I don't think I look like an monster, just that I am ugly
