what type of nail
Hello sorry for not responding it's obviously hard on the body the initial week.

Starting height: 172 cm
Goal: 180-182 cm
I just start this 8 days ago, right now im +1 cm taller
I did the surgery with Dr Becker with the betzbone nail on the femurs
57k euro
In Germany
I weight 72 kg before the surgery and I got 11mm nail, this nail is weight bearing so I can already walk around with crutches, and already few steps without crutches.

Recovery time I don't know yet it depends on the patient

First night pain was horrible, after that it's manageable, but some of others patients struggle a lot I probably had the easiest time of them all in our current group.

Sleep is probably the worst thing about this surgery for me, you wake up in middle of night with tension on your muscle

I ask chat gpt to summarize my diary in english

Day 5: Surgery & First Days of Recovery
Had the operation on the 6th with Dr. Becker — bilateral femurs. Today moving to the Dorint hotel to begin rehabilitation. Already gained +0.7 cm from the surgery, and walking actually feels okay. Becker's team was visibly impressed by my fast recovery — Becker even gave a high five and everyone applauded. Out of all patients present, received the lowest pain medication dose (50mg Tilidine vs 100–150mg for others). The nurse noted me being a very easy patient since almost everything can be done independently already, except preparing food or carrying heavy things.
Roommate from the US brought great positive energy which helped a lot mentally — he left for Dorint yesterday so it's been mostly solo since then. There was also a girl from China who had a harder time (vomiting while walking, concerned father), though she'll likely be fine given her small frame. Both me and her had surgery the same day and both experienced fever and dizziness. The first day's pain was intense and the full oxy allowance was used up — but day two was noticeably better. Her father tried to communicate but the language barrier made it difficult.

Having others going through the same thing feels genuinely important for mental health. Went to the restaurant with a group of patients: two from Germany, one from Austria, the American, the Chinese girl. One was a model — already tall but wanting to be taller. One guy from Pakistan, 155 cm. Another was a bodybuilder, 97 kg / 173 cm, requiring very high oxy doses and stretching 6–8 hours a day. His tips: click, cold shower, stretch, then use compression boots to release tension. The model was already walking without crutches just 2 weeks post-op, though she was very lightweight.

Day 6: First Clicks at Dorint (+0.8 cm)
Completed 20 clicks today — 1 mm total, felt easy. Very tired by evening, which is the body's natural response to everything it's processing. Managed clicking, physio, breakfast and dinner, and a shower — but not much else. Spent most of the day in bed on the phone, with frequent bathroom trips.

Hoping energy returns soon as the fatigue is real. Sleep quality is important to prioritize. The low toilet seat at the hotel is a significant challenge — a raised toilet seat (handicap style) and a grabber tool for picking things up from the floor would both help a lot. Building real pain tolerance and discipline through all of this. Worth it.

Day 7: Meeting Leon (+steady progress)
Another 20 clicks without issues. Maybe clicking take 30 minutes total. Met and talked with Leon (le_tremba) — he's recovered well and is impressively tall, towered over everyone. Very friendly. He mentioned the tension phase can get tough (roughly the 1–4 cm range) but said to just push through it and it gets easier after.

Dr. Becker came by to check on everyone — missed the room visit since the group was at lunch, but he came down to the table to chat. He mentioned he had performed surgery that day, so new patients will be arriving at Dorint soon.
The Normatec 3 lymphatic compression boots are excellent — great leg massage and very comfortable.

Day 8: +1 cm — Progress Picking Up
Hit the 1 cm mark. Did nearly 2 hours of stretching today — body feels noticeably better for it. Clicking still feels like new tension building but remains manageable. Massage also helped quite a bit. Appetite is improving and walking is getting easier too.

Becker's staff are warm and engaging. It can get a bit lonely eating alone sometimes — the social dynamic varies meal to meal. ITB (iliotibial band) stretching is extremely painful and needs more focus. The right leg is significantly tighter than the left. Overall though, feeling better each day.

I remember reading on the Limb Lengthening forum that toliet time becomes severely difficult. Guess they're not lying.

WOW. How can you afford this? Parents and inheritance?

Nice, im planning to do it as well this year.

Sure as hell I'm gonna do it.

Mirin. When are you going to stop growing and how long does it last to recover approximatly once you've stoped growing your bones ?

The most important part is to be flexible. If you are not flexible then your soft tissue will have a hard time to adapt to the lengthening.

If you have been seriously stretching in the years before then u get better results
