believe it or not, being autistic doesn't inherently make you socially retarded, it's just extremely easy for us to fall into feedback loops of antisocial behavior because we're not very good at reciprocating contact.

as long as you socialize regularly to maintain your ability to communicate with others you'll just seem like a slightly quirky normal person which isn't that abnormal, it helps if they're aware of this, we often lose contact with others because we don't know whether it's appropriate to message them, as a result we never do, and if they don't make a move it just fades out.
