Strange thing to bring up in a thread about food but yeah, I get what you mean. A lot of corporate consolidation shrinking middle class and political polars. It does feel like late stage capitalism symptoms but I think it's less about collapse and more about a system under a lot of stress that hasn't adapted well to our lives. so it keeps keeps spiraling which depends on policy, tech, and public pressure.

The problem is that capitalism isn’t designed to promote happiness. The working class is just getting further and further exploited by the ruling class. And we’ve got massive culture wars happening rn. The problem is that the system is functioning as intended.
