I hate lentils
In the realm of flavors, lentils don't appeal, Their taste, feel, and scent, like a culinary ordeal. Appearance akin to a dubious hit, Lentils, alas, a gastronomic misfit.
Even if they brought wealth in a silver spoon, I'd reject their offer, morning, night, and noon. Broke and penniless, still, I'd hesitate a bit, A rare indulgence, but the distaste persists.
Should lentils speak, sweet promises they'd weave, Yet in my kitchen, their presence I'd begrudgingly receive. No matter the deeds, the favors they'd commit, Their essence, alas, remains quite unfit.
If lentils could perform miracles with glee, A pretense of interest might show in me. Yet, despite their efforts, the truth won't quit, Lentils, unwelcome, forever and taste like shit.
