Women only started looksmaxxing once it became trendy. It's unusual and unnecessary for women to invest in new, fringe ideas outside of what society determines to be socially acceptable. This is why you rarely ever see them at the forefront of anything, and when they are there it's the ugly ones that have experience being socially rejected.

Women are deeply biologically wired to avoid the pain of social judgment. This isn't really their fault. It's more the result of the historical realities women have had to face to protect their children. The neurotypical and attractive ones are accepted effortlessly by society, which is why they appear to stop developing personalities during pubescence. It doesn't matter what they do or learn because men will treat them well anyways. Because the average woman is attractive to most men, the average woman does not need to look outside of society for truth or peace. The world already works for them. It's only after they hit the wall and become invisible may they resume personal development.

The push for women to pursue "empowerment' by adopting male personality traits means women gain social status for being seen as masculine. An easy way to show individuality is to have edgy opinions, but because women don't risk their social standing, they wait until society has freshly minted a new "safe-edgy" space as trendy. Then, they rapidly flood in to make it about themselves.

It's the same reason why ten years ago women didn't play video games or didn't do AI -- they were seen as irretrievably nerdy activities. Now that video games are seen as a socially acceptable hobby and AI is extremely profitable and high status industry, they're all magically quirky nerds who demand to be let in and accounted for. This is why when women join a once male space, it's inevitable that the original soul of the movement is mutated.
