Was watching a video by this chef and a ton of the comments were just "muhhh you didnt kill the lobster before boiling it they can feel pain!! shame on you hope karma gets you"

Same people that comment this eat chicken and cows slaughtered in the most brutal way possible
These same people kill ants every single day while walking
Moral selectivism at its finest

Don't you think the chickens you eat also feel pain when theyre killed?
One could even argue that killing chicken is even worse, theres blood everywhere, and by you eating chicken, more chickens are slaughtered.

i also feel the same when i was learning about how to prepare wild rabbit there were people in the comment section arguing about how its cruel to kill rabbits but they justify killing chickens. blackpill exists everywhere, they love rabbits because they are cute but dont mind chickens dying.

They are just pussies

in the wild it’s not uncommon for predatory animals to not kill their prey and straight up just eat them alive in some cases some animals even torture their prey before killing them boiling some crab that has very primitive nervous system that most likely can’t even feel pain is very tame compared to that.

Lol yeah people seem to forget that humans are not too different from animals
Human nature is pretty evil, we're all completely selfish

I mean, what do you want me too say?
Possibly elaborate to the discussion at hand like anyone
You're not forced to say anything btw, didnt necessarily want you specifically to say something

Its always "muh evil hitler killed the opposition" until its "kill all nazis (meaning anyone remotely right wing)"

Exactly. The people commenting weren't against him killing the lobster
They were against him boiling it alive instead of giving it a seamless death
The lobster was gonna die regardless, who cares about it feeling a bit of pain while dying???
Compared to what the average person does (eating chickens/cows), that's absolutely tame

killing the lobster before cooking it is a lot more in your control and effortless than buying pre killed chicken from the supermarket or avoiding killing ants when walking. That's why people see not killing the lobster before hand as unnecessarily cruel

yeah that's exactly right, the people that get angry over the lobster not being killed seem to forget that the chicken they're buying has been killed in a much more gruesome way, and they're effectively supporting their death by eating it

Buying chicken from a supermarket is no where near the same moral scale as deliberately torturing a lobster personally. They're both bad but buying chicken is more of a fault of the system rather than a personal failure but deliberately torturing lobsters is a more personal moral failure since it’s in your control.

I hate the people who comment under some math tutorial vids „im writing my finals tomorrow and dindnt learn anything“

meh i dont think the chef in the video purposefully thought to himself "yeah ill torture a lobster"
buying chicken is also in your control, yeah you can call it a fault of the system but the systems gonna stay the way it is if you're buying chicken
you're essentially still complicit

That’s like saying “don’t wear clothes because of the mistreated workers in china” like 1 person not contributing won’t do jack and its wayy out of a singular persons control than compared to just giving a lobster a less painful death. Thats why people see it as a stronger moral violation. Also the chef not thinking he’s doing a bad act doesn’t make it any less harmful, not to compare a lobster to humans but nazis never thought they were doing something wrong.
