I envy every time I see them and wouldn’t you know: eyes all on them
Given the chance, I’d rob their height in an instant
They did nothing to deserve it and it should be me
But the praise and worship of them sounds like nails to a chalkboard to me so I wouldn’t want that
I say in my brain, as if I’m the recipient to even make that judgement
Of course I say now: I’d be the same and humble and not change a bit (besides the obvious). Of course I say I’d hate the praise…….until it would happen to me
If man was given a lighter, doth not set afire the world?
My hypocrisy looms over me—above my head—above my head and out—out, out and about—out if sight, out of mind—Yet…….it looms.
Looms it does.
Looms as the sun, casting my evils as the shadow of my sins trail behind me
getting bigger, bigger, and bigger
As the weight of the shadow of my trespasses is that which collapses all that I’ve journeyed on, casting me into the eternal judgment.
