most high "SMV" people from my age range have made like 100 posts on their profiles on social networking sites in their entire life max.

also their profile pics and last uploads are usually 3 to 5 years old. why? because they just don't need more exposure, they get more than enough of pleasure and validation by just living their lives.

Having 500 users on ignore helps somewhat, but the trolls generally don't get banned until after a couple weeks, then open new accounts. I believe most of the trolls are zealots consciously trying to make the forum unusable for any one of a dozen reasons, but are most commonly anti free speech Marxists.

Suggested remedies:
Don't let anyone with less than 50 posts start new threads.
Ban posters constantly making low effort posts, non sequitur posts, personal attack posts, being particularly aggressive with new posters.
Make it more difficult for new users to register, I do not have the interweb sophistication to provide a method to do this without compromising the anonymity of the poster.

this type of communicating platforms provides a lot of advantages compared to (often) boring and static socializing with people in rl

- no close tab or block user options irl
- not allowed to be a hardcore racist
- not allowed to call people retards without facing repercussions/getting people offended
