You just have to put yourself out there, try different things and different hobbies once you are over uni/college age tbh. Familiarality breeds comfort so its just a gradual process as people aren't forced together like they are when younger. It gets harder as you get older so you are better off putting in the effort now than delaying it until you are in your late 20s. Late 20s onwards gets much harder.
