I was able to get good grades in high school and university because the math I was doing wasn’t rigorous at all. If I had taken serious math courses like Real Analysis, I would have been completely cooked. The same goes for computer science, I can’t solve any moderately difficult programming problem in a reasonable time frame. I would have been mediocre in any STEM field if I had decided to pursue something in that. I think it's best to avoid STEM unless you're like 125+ IQ or you're going to be in for a hard time and it might not even pan out for you.
