It doesn't matter how your ramus is measured in inches, it matters how it is in relation to your mandibular. According to my own specialised facial harmony rating kit, I'd personally say the ideal ramus length is between 0.57-0.78 the user's mandibular length. You would measure the ramus, not from the gonion to the point of the ear, but to the tragus/tragion to the gonion.
