Try to be nice to him. Go out of your way to maybe say nice stuff to him, and try to ignore any weird comments made by him. He will greatly appreciate it one day. All it takes for some people is to just not get ignored, get given maybe a few compliments, and be treated as human.

Maybe the reason he's weird is because he never got any of this to begin with.
