What kind of interview

how do you prepare for an interview

how do you prepare for an interview
i got send thi sbut i played video games instead of doing any prep

In preparation please can I recommend you?

  • Read the website
  • Ensure you understand the job description - I have asked for them to share the PD which I hope to be able to send to you shortly.
  • Be familiar with your present and former employers - this is often the best place from which to draw real life examples of your skills and ability
  • Be able to articulate why you are interested in the company and this role
  • Prepare for the behavioural / competency based type questions you may be asked and think of questions you may want to ask
  • Be confident and sell yourself without being overbearing

Use these interview tips to help you shine:

  • Know your resume inside out and prepare answers for common questions like, "what is your greatest weakness/strength?"
  • Rehearse and rehearse again. This is the best technique for assessing how well you know your career history, calming nerves, untwisting tongues and building confidence.
  • Make sure you get the interviewer's name right and then use it several times.
  • Don't answer with just a "yes" and "no" but do keep your answers concise.
  • Smiling while talking will project a positive image to the listener and will change the tone of your voice.
  • Speak slowly and enunciate clearly.
  • Dress the part so you feel professional.
  • If you get a question you want to think about, don't panic but state that. For example, "That's a good question. I'm going to take a moment so I can provide you with an accurate answer."
  • Don't interrupt the interviewer.
  • Read the attached documents for further interview preparation
  • Ask questions that show your interest in the company rather than yourself. Asking about if the team you would be joining is currently tackling any big projects would be better than "how much would I earn?"
  • At the end of the interview, thank the interviewer for their time. Ask about the next steps in the recruitment process including the timeline
