Mine too. But, also completely inconsistent. Never knew what they were going to fly off the handle about. Plus, there was the illusion of them being "cool" parents because they were hippies who allowed me to do things that other lame parents wouldn't, like swear or whatever. But then they'd get super upset about random shit, and it was always framed as like some extreme moral shortcoming on my part. Not just like "you shouldn't have done this" but like "you're a huge piece of shit because you did this." And I feel like what made it worse was my dad portraying himself as some extremely noble person, who could do no wrong, and also extremely loving, so I couldn't just write him off as an asshole. I feel like it would have been easier if he had just been some asshole drunk piece of shit because then I might have just written him off completely and not cared what he thought.

Anyway, it's so bad that any time I take psychedelics I'm worried that my parents are going to be mad at me for discovering the secrets of the universe. "Uh oh, it turns out everyone is god just pretending to be separate people...and dad is going to be mad about that."
