i have been jutting my lower jaw forcing a crossbite for over a year just so i can look remotely human

Is this how the rest of my life will be? jutting consciously every single day, wearing rubber bands (as long as i still have my braces) to keep the posture, and just living unconfortable every single minute? all of this so i can resemble what a human should look like
