I have emptier spots in my hair, especially on top, anyone knows anything about this?

I don't have problems with my hairline, but I'm noticing I have emptier spots on my head. Especially now, that I got a haircut. Does anyone else have them? Is it a balding sign? And can you get rid of them? Or its not a big deal?
