You just posted old wrinkly men here of course they will be ugly. Politicians or generals are also ugly on average but that's because you usually don't see a 25yo politician getting high position or 25yo officer getting straight promoted to general. Similarly Nobel prize winners usually get those very long time after their discoveries.
From my time in academia the looks of people are in normal range. Some amount of lower look bracket may be wider than normally, as for some of these education is cope, just like there's more ugly nerds among programists etc but pretty people are preferred everywhere so there's a share of these too.
Dolph Lundgren for example got PhD in chemistry in his youth. He'd however be nuts to stay in science when he could be paid for being Chad on screen, though.

Also a surprise to me was how much of good looking people are on medical studies. Now that is a victory in life - be born hot, get pretty privilege everywhere, be high IQ to finish hard, demanding university and get a job with not only high money, but also guaranteed work.

Studying medicine, or studying on medical uni? On med unis it's 90% foids on medical courses like nursing, but medicine studies, as in to become a doctor of medicine, are roughly 50:50, at least where I live
