Moving after HS and/or going to a commuter school for college is a perfect recipe for that and a large amount of people deal with that, especially in big cities where If you move neighborhoods u can end up a 25-35 min drive from where all your friends are at and I can attest that gradually as you grow a little older and get caught up with school and your lil part time job that 30 min drives become increasingly harder and harder to do, just texting your friend to randomly hangout and smoke weed cause you’re bored in the middle of the day during the week is not really that viable of an option anymore

Also I’ve noticed that a lot of times especially girls drastically change 12-18 months out of HS and sometimes they’ll go thru a crisis and try to distance themselves from people that they knew in HS
