You can practice your social skills in many different settings; work, sports/music/language practice (litteraly any activity that requires a regular gathering of people outside of your normal social circle), family etc…
I used to be a mega nd tard (banged my head against the wall in preschool loll) it was a really really long and oftentimes fruitless journey, but i eventually got enough social competence to be the person i wanted to be without being awkward, creepy or weird.

I have been actively harassed and beaten up.

Never ever did i think about giving up.

I do not regret my past because it made me the person i am today.
No matter how silly and stupid you may think it is, the same thing goes for you.
