Why do you think this?

Pays pretty well, benefits for life, pays for any further education you might take in the future fully. (bachelors, dental school, MD schools, law schools etc.) The time it would take for regular people to pay off their debts would be made up by you not having to do so, and you got paid during that time + get benefits for life. Of-course, the small risk being you might get deployed and die, but if you're in the US that's unlikely to happen since they got the most equipped and supplied military in history.

edit: you can also take educational programs while you're enrolled in the military, allowing you to build experience in whatever field u choose while ur there (mechanic, IT, Medicine, etc, and they are programs all paid for by the military) or you can be a basic infantry grunt.
You're essentially offered services and paid to take them while people who aren't in the military would have to pay lots of money. + it builds discipline.
